Mannequins with a Flair

I always feel weird when I see realistically beautiful, female mannequins. The reason I have been in the presence of these inanimate creatures is because I have a friend that sells them.

They come in all different types and sizes. There are even blow up mannequins (but not for the purpose that first comes to mind). You can order wigs for them and of course, all the best clothes fit on them. There are mannequins that look a little scary too, like the ones that appear androgynous when nude. I'm not sure what I feel when I see these type!

OK, obviously these things bring out the weirdness in me but they do serve a larger purpose. Where else would stores display all of those clothes to entice the public to make a purchase and test the waters on how they could look on real people. The movie, The Omega Man, starring a gun-toting Charlton Heston, displayed several mannequins that almost looked alive. In fact, one did spring to life in the movie. Will Smith in the updated version, I Am Legend, tried to interact with them to keep some semblance of sanity after mankind dropped into the great abyss.

I actually came up with an office security idea for mannequins. Buy a male mannequin and set him up in a chair by a window. Burglars with think someone is working late and move on!!
